A Happy and Peaceful Thanksgiving 2019

A Happy and Peaceful Thanksgiving 2019

Happy holidays! I hope you’re all enjoying the last few weeks of 2019! Work is finally slowing down so I’ve been brushing up on my shooting, editing, and mixing skills in preparation for more video content next year. It’s been awhile since I’ve flexed this creative muscle and it’s quite the learning experience.

There’s something alluring about beautiful, long format storytelling, especially in an age of Stories, Snaps, TikToks, GIFs, and quick bite-sized content. These days, I’ve been consuming a lot of ASMR food videos which is incredibly soothing to listen to, and quite frankly, a bit therapeutic. I especially love ASMR cooking; it takes me back to grade school, working on my homework at the kitchen table while mom prepared dinner. Perhaps I, too, should slow down and be more thoughtful with the creative work I put out. What are your goals for 2020?

Here's a quick vlog on how we spent our Thanksgiving grilling meat, drinking wine, and snuggling little Starbie. Be sure to like and subscribe to my channel if you want to keep up with my new videos!

Our Thanksgiving Eats:
• Chicken Bone Broth from Butcher's by Roli Roti
• Hemp hearts from Manitoba Harvest
• Seasonal persimmons from the Ferry Building Farmers Market, gifted by my friend, Ingrid.
• Osmanthus honey from mom's garden in Texas
• Garden chimichurri made with spicy oregano, pineapple sage, parsley, cilantro, shallots, garlic, Meyer lemons, Potli Apple Cider Vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil
• Picanha steak from Olivier's Butchery
• Georgian wine from Flatiron Wines & Spirits SF, gifted by my friend, Andres.

May your holiday season be filled with peace and happiness, my friends!
