Happy Holidaze: Cannabis Podcasts and Books 2022

Happy Holidaze: Cannabis Podcasts and Books 2022

Tis the season to finally tackle that massive backlog of podcasts and books that's been sitting on your phone/kindle/bookshelf for the past year. The holidaze are a great time to catch up on longer form content that you may have missed throughout the year. Since becoming a new mom, I have fallen behind on just about everything and I am very much looking forward to transitioning into my final form as a couch potato next week.

If you're looking for some great cannabis podcasts and books to check out, I highly recommend the following:

How to Do The Pot - Episode 166

'How to Do the Pot' is a for weekly podcast for women, by women, that demystifies cannabis through joyful, narrative storytelling and informed recommendations and advice. I had the opportunity to chat with Ellen about homemade cannabis edibles, childproofing, and my new gummies cookbook in episode 166.

Bite Me Podcast: Monica Lo Episode

'Bite Me The Show About Edibles' is a weekly show that helps home cooks make great cannabis edibles. I recently chatted with Marge about sous vide, Sous Weed, and my new gummies cookbook.

The Cannabis Gardener by Penny Barthel - Cannabis is as easy to grow as a tomato plant. If you live in a suitable climate and provide sun, water, and good soil, you can grow vigorous, beautiful cannabis in pots, raised beds, or your own yard. I’m reading up and planning my spring garden!

Butter & Flower by Ann Allchin - Ann has spoken with cannabis activists, a legal defender and defendants, entrepreneurs, medicinal users, and healthcare practitioners to share their stories in this book. It’s a diverse collection of lives lived under the War on Drugs, including revelations with mental and physical health, the road to legalization, and hopes for the future of cannabis use.

The Joy of Cannabis by Melanie Abrams and Larry Smith - With a toolkit of the basics to get you started and a curated set of 75 activities, The Joy of Cannabis is a road map to a higher and happier you. In each of the six sections, you'll find science-based research as well as charts, essays, and fun facts from bold thinkers. The activities teach you how to amplify pleasure through bonding and intimacy, deepen meditation to help with social anxiety and sleep, and elevate your cooking with innovative cannabis-infused recipes.

Edibles: Small Bites for the Modern Cannabis Kitchen by Stephanie Hua and Coreen Carroll - I go back to this one often! The Sous Weed method gets love in this book as well as a recipe highlight from yours truly. This collection of 30 bite-sized, low-dose recipes ventures boldly beyond pot brownies with tasty, unique, and innovative treats.

Cannabis Drinks by Jamie Evans - Cannabis drinks are rapidly gaining traction in our industry and infusing cannabis into drinks can be done in a variety of ways. Learn all about it as you craft delicious cocktails, smoothies, lattes, and spirit-free mixed drinks.

The Weed Gummies Cookbook by Monica Lo - This one is my first solo cookbook that I reference back to often especially for the pate de fruit and nougat recipes. I have been making those treats nonstop for holiday gifts. This practical cookbook is the go-to resource for the cannabis curious of all levels and offers approachable ways to incorporate a variety of cannabinoids into your routine. With step-by-step instructions and color photos, you'll also get tips for safely handling and labeling your confections.

These are just a few new podcasts and books I’m about to indulge in, but there are countless others worth checking out. Drop a comment if you have more recommendations!
